Legal
Privacy policy
This policy explains how Complete Crete ("we", "us") collects, uses, stores and shares your personal information, and the rights you have under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020.
Who we are
Complete Crete is a concrete business run as a sole trader by Tama Puhi in New Zealand. If you have any questions about your information, contact us at tamapuhi@hotmail.com or on 021 103 5148.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through this website, or contact us by phone, text or email, we collect what you give us. That's usually:
- your name, phone number and email address
- your suburb or property address
- details about the work you want, your rough budget and timing
- any photos you send us of your property
If you go ahead with work, we also keep the quote, any written agreement, variations, invoices and payment records.
When you visit this website, our web server automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time. These server logs are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are deleted automatically after about two weeks. With each enquiry we also store a scrambled (one-way hashed) version of your IP address so we can block spam. It can't be turned back into your address.
Cookies and tracking
The public pages of this website don't use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers or social media pixels. The only cookie we use is a login cookie in our private admin area, which only applies to us.
Why we use it
We use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry and arrange a site visit
- prepare a quote and carry out the work
- invoice you and keep records we're legally required to keep, such as tax records
- deal with any questions or problems after the job
We won't send you marketing emails or texts unless you've agreed to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information. We only share it when it's needed for your job or required by law, for example:
- suppliers or tradespeople working on your job (only what they need, such as the site address)
- your local council or an engineer, if your project needs consent or engineering
- our accountant, and Inland Revenue, for tax purposes
- anyone we're legally required to share it with
Our website and enquiry records are stored on a secure server hosted in Australia, and our email is provided by an online email service. These providers store data for us but don't use it for their own purposes.
How we protect it
This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Enquiries are stored in a password-protected admin area that only we can access. We take reasonable steps to keep your information safe from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.
How long we keep it
If an enquiry doesn't go ahead, we delete it within two years. If you become a customer, we keep job and financial records for at least seven years, as New Zealand tax law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it if it's wrong. You can also ask us to delete your enquiry. Contact us using the details above. We'll respond as soon as we can, and within 20 working days.
Complaints
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can try to fix it. If you're still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or on 0800 803 909.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page.
